AMTIE

 

The AMT Institute for Education (AMTIE) is a separate legal not-for-profit agency established by AMT in 1979 to assist AMT-certified members in maintaining technical competence through participation in ongoing CE activities. AMITE offers programs and services that are intended to promote, encourage and reward practioners who demonstrate continued efforts to carry the competencies needed at initial certification throughout their careers. AMTIE services are provided to all AMT members as an important benefit. All new AMT members are automatically enrolled in AMTIE; an applicaton is not required and there is no additional fee.

AMTIE Programs and Services

 

There are several programs and services offered by AMTIE. They are described below:

  

AMTrax Online Recording System: AMTrax is a member service designed to help track continuing education and other related activities ---online. The system provides a convenient means for documenting certification-related activities for employers and licensing agencies and also helps you self-assess progress in complying with the Certification Continuation Program (CCP). STEP Online: This is a continuing education program keyed to scholarly articles, which appear in the Journal of Continuing Education Topics & Issues. Each article includes a short test which can be submitted for manual scoring or taken online. Past articles and tests are available online. The Journal is mailed three times a year (January, April and August) to all current AMT-certified members as a membership benefit. CE Modules: AMTIE also makes available several subject matter monographs which can be used to obtain your necessary continuing education hours. The modules each consist of a number of STEP articles, compiled by specific topic. To view available modules and to order: Click Here

 

**Credits earned for both STEP Online and CE Modules are accepted by the state of Florida and the state of California for MT and MLT licensure renewal purposes.
