Student Benefits
AMT offers valuable membership benefits including educational and professional programs, information services, career assistance, networking opportunities, and discounted personal programs. AMT's membership is comprised of Medical Technologists, Medical Assistants, Dental Assistants, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Office Laboratory Technicians, Phlebotomy Technicians, Laboratory Consultants, Allied Health Instructors and a roster of over 3,000 allied health care students nationwide.
- Join AMT for only $5 and receive a membership card and lapel pin. The students and faculty also have opportunities to organize an AMT Student Society.
- Not just paper & pencil tests! Graduates may also take the AMT certification examination by computer or tests can be administered at the school. Computer testing is available Monday-Saturday (except holidays) at over 200 Pearson Vue locations in the United States, its territories, and Canada.

- Student discounts for the 70th Annual Convention in Providence, Rhode Island July 7 -12 2008 at Westin Providence Hotel. Allied health care students can attend five full days of learning, sharing, networking and having fun!
- Five scholarships ($500 each) available for students pursuing studies in medical laboratory technology, medical assisting, dental assisting, phlebotomy, or office laboratory technician.
- Allied health instructors may qualify to be a Certified Allied Health Instructor (AHI) from AMT.
- Every year AMT honors medical assistants throughout the country during the National Medical Assistants Week in October. Promotional items (including pens, coffee mugs, T-shirts, balloons, and posters) will be available for sale through AMT's web site. Students interested in volunteering to promote the event may email us by going to the National Medical Assistants Week section of the AMT website and filling out the information form.
- In AMT's efforts to recognize the vital contributions made by clinical laboratory professionals, the National Medical Laboratory Week is celebrated in April of each year with many promotional items available for purchase.
