State Awards Guidelines

State Awards

1.   The RMSSAMT Technologist of the Year Award is presented by the Rocky Mountain State 
      Society of AMT.
      a. The nominee must be a current Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician
          (MLT) member of RMSSAMT who:
          1.  Has a History of Service to RMSSAMT and remains actively involved.
          2.  Is currently working in the field.
          3.  Need not be the same member nominated by RMSSAMT for the National Technologist of
               the Year award.
      b. This award is nominated by the State Membership and voted on by a majority vote.
      c. This award will be presented at the Spring Meeting.

2.   The RMSSAMT RMA of the Year Award is presented by the Rocky Mountain State Society of
      AMT.
      a. The nominee must be a current RMA member of RMSSAMT who: 
          1.  Has a History of Service to RMSSAMT and remains actively involved.
          2.  Is currently working in the field.
          3.  Need not be the same member nominated by RMSSAMT for the National RMA of the Year
               award.
      b. This award is nominated by the State Membership and voted on by a majority vote.
      c. This award will be presented at the Spring Meeting. 

3.   The RMSSAMT RPT of the Year Award is presented by the Rocky Mountain State Society of
      AMT.
      a. The nominee must be a current RPT member of RMSSAMT who: 
          1.  Has a History of Service to RMSSAMT and remains actively involved.
          2.  Is currently working in the field.
          3.  Need not be the same member nominated by RMSSAMT for the National RPT of the Year
              award.
      b. This award is nominated by the State Membership and voted on by a majority vote.
      c. This award will be presented at the Spring Meeting.

4.   The RMSSAMT Mentor Award is presented by the Rocky Mountain State Society of AMT to the
      member who had shown excellence in mentoring our students, by participating with schools
      explaining the importance of becoming certified with AMT and encourages the students to attend
      the state meetings.  This member also plays an important role in helping to keep our existing
      members feel that they are equally important. 
      a. The Criteria for this award is: nominee 
          1.  Current member of RMSSAMT.
          2.  Plays an active role in mentoring our students and/or help to keep our existing members
              feel important
          3.  Have attended the Spring and Fall meeting for the last 2 years.
          4.  Assisted during 1 or more meetings.
      b. This award is nominated by the State Membership and voted on by a majority vote.
      c. This award will be presented at the Spring Meeting.

5.   The RMSSAMT Golden Nugget Award is presented by the Rocky Mountain State Society of
      AMT to the member who has continuously supported the state society with work “behind the
      scenes”.  The individual supports both the board of directors and the membership through their
      willingness to plan/provide support during state meetings, help with newsletter preparations,
      and/or whenever called upon by the board or state society (tellers during state elections, session 
      moderators, errand runners, supporting/monitoring member registration)
      a. The Criteria for this award is: nominee 
          1.  Current member of RMSSAMT. 
          2.  Have attended the Spring and Fall meeting for the last 2 years.
          3.  Assisted during 1 or more meetings.
      b. This award is nominated by the State Membership and voted on by a majority vote.
      c. This award will be presented at the Spring Meeting.

6.   The RMSSAMT Pilar Award is presented by the Rocky Mountain State Society of AMT to the
      member who had shown continued long term support for ten years or more to the state
      society.     
      a. The Criteria for this award is:
          1.  Has been a committee chairperson or has been a speaker for a state meeting.
          2.  Has worked on setting up a meeting (meeting locations sites, getting speakers for the
               meeting, arranging breaks and lunch for meetings)
          3.  Has served on the RMSSAMT board of directors and/or officer.
      b. This award is nominated by the State Membership and voted on by a majority vote.
      c. This award will be presented at the Spring Meeting.
