Q: What is AMTIE?
A: AMTIE stands for American Medical Technologists Institute for Education (AMTIE). AMTIE is a no-charge service to active certificants of AMT. AMTIE provides free tracking of your continuing education credits each calendar year.
Q: How does the program work?
A: Once you become certified you are automatically enrolled in the program. Each year that you keep your certification current, you are automatically enrolled in the program. After every education program that you earn CE at, send in your paperwork along with you ID number to receive credit. If the program is an AMTIE provider make sure you get the AMTIE Provider number.
Q: Where do I send in my CE forms?
A: Send in your paperwork either as you take the program or before December 31 to: Paula Simoncini, AMT, 10700 West Higgins Road, Suite 150, Rosemont, IL 60018. Make sure you have your name, ID number, telephone number and address on the information.
Q: What is the due date for the information?
A: To be counted and recorded all CE must be received by December 31 of the year taken.
Q: What are the number of hours recommended I should obtain?
A: The AMT Board of Directors sets a standard for each allied health discipline from the recommendations of the AMT Education, Qualification and Standards Committee. MT/MLT, RMA, CMAS & COLT: 15 clock hours per year; RDA, AHI & CLC: 10 clock hours per year; RPT: 5 clock hours per year.
Q: If I meet the number of hours recommended what happends?
A: No matterhour many hours you have in a given year, all AMT certificants in the program will receive a "Report Card." The Report Card states what programs you have taken and the number of hours credited for that program. For those certificants that meet the number of hours, they receive a certificate of Compliance. If a certicant doubles the number of hours recommended in a given year, they will also receive a letter to give to their employer and a certificate of Excellence. All members meeting or exceeding the recommended number of hours are listed in the April Issue of Journal of CE Topics & Issues.
