AMT Executive Director Elected to NOCA Board

AMT Executive Director, Chris Damon, Elected to NOCA Board of Directors

PARK RIDGE, IL – January 12, 2003 – American Medical Technologists’ (AMT) Executive Director, Christopher Damon, J.D., was elected to the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA) Board of Directors in October 2002. NOCA is the leader in setting quality standards for credentialing organizations and its membership consists of associations, certifying organizations, customer groups, and government agencies that are interested in credentialing. 
 

Mr. Damon has spent the last 20+ years working with health related organizations such as: American Medical Association, Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and currently, American Medical Technologists.  Mr. Damon is also a member of Association Forum of Chicagoland, the Chicago Association of Healthcare Executives, and sits on the advisory board of Advance for Medical Laboratory Professionals.  Mr. Damon received his BA in Government from Beloit College in Beloit WI and his MA and JD from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI.
 

AMT’s competency-based examinations are accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) which is the accreditation body of NOCA.  The six examinations accredited by NCCA are: Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and Certified Office Laboratory Technician (COLT).
